Hope this helps. Race and ethnicity are two different things, especially since the former is a social construct. Geography and language play a huge role in a persons ethnic background. As a Haitian I’m considered Latina, because it’s a French speaking country through colonization. Dialects that fall into this category are: Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, French and Romanian, also known as the Romance languages. For example if Italy colonized Mexico they would be considered Latin, but not Hispanic. Ignorance isn’t bliss, nor cute. Knowledge is power, know wtf you’re talking about before speaking.
