Dear Andrés Manuel López Obrador,
Your response to the border crisis is utterly and completely unacceptable. What is your job exactly? Besides failing your country, then having the audacity to make it Americas problem? You think it’s acceptable for hundreds of thousands of people to come into a neighboring country illegally, just because it’s next door? That’s not how it works. They don’t get to drain our resources and make the actual citizens of this country, including ones who came here legally, second class. Using our taxes, forcing us to make sacrifices to our education, sanitation and safety? It’s infeasible and unfair.
You’re right about one thing, we should help. Instead of bringing people here, jobs needs to be created to help fix whatever is going on there. Preventing mass exoduses that are causing strain and chaos. Send them back and start helping them fix whatever is going on. Period. The Mexican presidents laissez-faire attitude is disgusting. As long as he’s fed, he doesn’t care about the people. How fucking dare you.
After working with Esteban, a Brazilian Korean, things need to change. He comes here like the idiot he is, thinking he knows more than me about my country. Knows more than me about my city. Knows more than me about an industry I’ve been in for years, while Gammeeok was his first restaurant (and not a real one, there wasn’t even a bar). Literally barely speaks English, getting better by speaking to me. He then accuses me of multiple things I didn’t do, like the liar he is, based on the extreme racism and misogyny in Latin America. The only reason he was made assistant manager, was for the former GM to spite the floor manager. Which is why he had the title and the pay, but I chose if he remained in that position, or give it to the other Korean employee, Tony.
I’m bringing Esteban up, because he’s been in this county for three years and hasn’t paid a single tax. Not one. Then has the nerve to withhold taxes, meaning he’s receiving the full amount of pay. Which is why this idiot called out so often, thinking he was rich. Instead of getting the ITIN number like I told him, he purposely evaded taxes.
People who don’t have ITIN numbers should not be allowed to withhold taxes. How many others are doing this? It’s not far to the hardworking, tax paying citizens, carrying this country on their backs. Esteban had the audacity to tell people I worked at Gammeeok after rat soup, because I had no money. No, I felt guilty since I was the cause of the setup. His broke ass had no savings, which I amassed by coming to work everyday, with my taxes paid. Also by being an experienced server, while your lazy ass drank soju until wasted, people were giving me extra tips. You know how many days you left with $40 cash tip and I left with $100? Only for your lame ass to try to explain to me what a handshake is, because at your new job you got one. The look on his idiot face when I said yeah, I got them while working with you.
Last Christmas I shared $20 from my handshake holidays tips, because I felt bad for how little him and the busser were going to receive once we divided the cash. In the book it says we left with $30, the busser with even less. In reality I left with $180, again you only got that much due to my kindness. The only reason we become cordial, because I never spoke to him prior due to his behavior, was our mutual disdain for mentally unstable Tony. You’re welcome Esteban, for making your broke ass as the muse of policy change. You’ve finally contributed something worthwhile. Via: The Guardian
