When you’re little all you want to do is grow up. Like everyone else I had big plans of eating cookies for breakfast, cursing without my mom beating my ass, and screw curfew, school’s out forever! Overall I planned on doing whatever the hell I wanted, then it actually happened and it was an absolute mess. No one tells you adulthood is a shitshow, especially your twenties where you’re learning the ins and outs.
Between rent, bills, random calamities, tuition, socializing and transportation, being an adult is more stressful than anything. Often times I would share random blurbs on social media, describing the silver lining at the end of yet another tough life lesson, sponsored by the universe. One of my friends then commented, “You are like the saint of my twenties.” It felt so good to know that whatever I learned could resonate with someone else, like we weren’t all navigating this thing called life alone. This blog is about all things adult, but your twenties are where you learn the basics of survival, through fucking it all up, if you’re doing it right. While trying to find out: Who am I? What’s my purpose? Where/Who is my human? The value of money by being broke, most importantly how hard are you willing to fight to be yourself, in a world that wants everyone to be the same? Here are all the things they don’t teach you in school. Trust me it will make your life so much easier.
