Playing Cards Is Good For You

Don’t forget to have fun, whatever that means to you: drinks, games, staying home, watching a film, sleeping etc…I love playing cards. It was our favorite thing to do during free periods in middle & high school. Winning that Rick James tournament senior year is one of the best things I’ve done in my life, deadass. Sara Tam introduced the game to the entire grade and we were hooked. I have to ask her what it’s really called, we changed the name after that iconic Chappelle Show episode with Charlie Murphy (RIP).

Cards also remind me of my grandmother, who always had a deck on hand. To this day I haven’t mastered shuffling a deck the way she could, an underrated skill. I don’t know if it’s the finger dexterity, or what I need to fix because every time I try cards go flying! FYI there are cognitive, creative, social and stress reducing benefits to playing. What’s your favorite card game? Via: Cest_Jeanne
