Try A Mental Health Challenge

All health is wealth, especially mental. If you’re not in a good mental space, you won’t be able to take the necessary actions in other areas of your life. The mind can be a prison if you don’t gain control, another reason to meditate and connect to the soul, listen to what the Almighty is trying to tell you, see things with clarity. Meditation rewires your brain in a multitude of positive ways, a scientific fact. Look it up.

Quieting the mind isn’t the only way to gain control of your sanity, here are bevy of things that positively contribute to your mental health. Pick at least one activity: move your body to release trauma, stagnant energy, release happy hormones, engage in a hobby you love, connect to nature, whatever resonates with you most. The Recipe For Mastering Anything

Two things to remember:
1. Practice makes perfect.
2. Progress is only made when you try doing something, repeatedly.

I never thought I’d be able to get my chest and chin on the floor simultaneously during puppy pose. Then 2 weeks ago it happened out of the clear blue fuck. At that point in the game I was simply following the instructor, detached from the outcome of nailing the pose. I’m incredibly proud of myself, after years of putting in work to no avail. Shout out to backbend sequences, I’d still have tense shoulders and a stiff neck if not for you. Focusing on opening up my back, which I ignored prior, changed my life.

This is what makes yoga an enriching experience. It humbles you by showing the limitations of your body, but asks you to keep showing up and doing the same movements repeatedly, rewarding you by surpassing those restrictions in due time. Don’t skip the move. Do it, fail, do it again. That’s the only way to expand your range of motion, eventually perfecting the pose. Baby steps, failure, patience, resilience, the recipe for mastering anything. Via: HelloBlackChild

The Color Of Your Mood Today

Self-care is health care. It’s important to check in with your emotional state, pinpoint the origins of feeling, and deal with it accordingly. Feel how you feel, adjust if you must. Which color are you today? Why? Artist: SelfLoveRainbow

Saying Goodbye Can Be Good

Leave behind what no longer serves you. I know my ex-fiancé is a psychopath, because he really, truly believes his behavior was no big deal, that I miss him and want to speak to him. The level of cruelty lodged against me at his behest knows no bounds. For my mental health I’ve taken legal action, blocked his phone numbers, social media, the works. My happiness never mattered to him, it was all about his joy by any means necessary.
I’ve also gotten rid of friends for the same reason. Opening up my life to blessings, removing blocks. Dinner a few weeks ago solidified I did the right thing. Do you have someone, or a group this applies to? Get rid of them. Health is wealth. Via: Awoken Shit
