Halloween Inspo: Sheneneh Jenkins

Easily my favorite “Martin” character, Sheneneh Jenkins is a ghetto fabulous queen. Minimalism isn’t her thing. Being her for Halloween requires outrageously long acrylic nails, a colorful outfit you can spot from outer space, stacked jewelry, extreme print mixing and large box braids half up in a scrunchy. Whether you’re rocking a crop top or bubble jacket it must be topped with a fanny pack. This 100% qualifies as an excuse to check anyone who annoys you that night. It’s part of the persona because she’s a lady. Via: Martin Wiki, People Magazine, That’s Entertainment, TikTok & Reddit

Favorite 90’s Couple: Black History Edition

An important question for Black History Month, one I’ve ruminated over for years. I’m not even joking, I screenshot this in 2022 and finally have my answer. It was between options C&D for me, because A&B did nothing but waste your time 1995. Don’t even get me started on Nia Long & Will Smith, just don’t.

While Sinclair and Overton were close, I’m going with Whitley and Dwayne, option C. Like, they’re just iconic, even Nikki Minaj references them. They balance each other out and prove true love will always survive the tumult, be it family, classism, or engagements to other people. Which 90’s couple is your favorite? A Bittersweet Martin Reunion

On one hand this is dope, on the other Tommy (RIP Thomas Mikal Ford) is missing and this poster makes me sad. Urgh! It’s hard to choose my favorite episode: the court episode (got the draws), when Martin got hustled at the pool hall by a woman, any episode with Sheneneh, when Martin refuses to pay the rent increase, when Biggie comes and Gina competes with Pam to be his singer…a black classic. “Damn Gina”

When you hear the term “Damnnnn Gina,” know it’s from Martin. This why (see above for outfit). He always said it when Gina, his wife, looked fine af. Can you blame him? Via: 90s Hype
