Jean-Michel Basquiat And Madonna Days

The painter and the pop star didn’t date for long, but their talent makes them an iconic power couple. A romance in 1982 that ended with Madonna leaving, because of Basquiat’s heroin addiction. This relationship is just another reason Madonna will always reign supreme over Lady Gaga. Sorry not sorry.

Madonna is a sex symbol. She bagged men and stole Sandra Bernhardt’s girlfriend. An innovator, Madonna subverted pop stardom, dating, luxuriating, working and breaking the rules the way male rockstars do. In fact I don’t think any female has ever been as brazen. She’s not played it safe and didn’t need substances to be so bold. Songs about abortion, virginity and using men for money, her music has already proven to be timeless, like the phases of her style. Not to mention she was out in the trenches with the LGBTQ community when AIDS was a death sentence. Never once abandoning them, despite how nebulous the transmission of the disease was. Madonna was an advocate through their darkest time, seemingly risking her own health. Lady Gaga has gotten this far due to extreme witchcraft, black magic specifically. Hence there was that group saying she wasn’t going to make it, and Lana Del Rey along with everyone else in the NYC scene were perplexed by her stardom. In “So Legit” the “Born To Die” singer openly states Gaga was a laughingstock. Madonna didn’t need meat dress gimmicks, pretty people privilege was enough. She is one of the last superstars. I will never forget how “Power Of Goodbye” broke me out of that spell. Via: RetroNYC

Happy Pride Month 2026

For those of you unfamiliar with this amazing series, “Gay Or Straight?” it’s hilarious. The interviewer goes around asking mostly men if the person in the photo is gay or straight. Subsequently asking for their sexual orientation in turn, and if they believe people would accurately guess it based on a photo of them. The interviewee vows their so heterosexual people will get it right, posing to become the new inquiry. Cut to, the next person calling them gay and their unfounded reasons why. It goes to show you can’t judge a book by its cover. Happy pride & you’re welcome. Via: JamesCalixteTV

Blessings By Chukwuebuka Ibeh

Bad at soccer, but always the best dancer at parties, Obiefuna goes from a baby bringing blessings to disgracing his father. After catching his son in a comprising situation with his apprentice, Obiefuna’s father seeks to end to his homosexuality by sending him to a militant all boys school (I know right). Never telling his mother, who loves him unconditionally, why, and prohibiting them from spending time together.

Nigeria is still a place of gender roles and religious fervor, regarding same sex marriage as a sin and openly punishing those who participate. The reader watches as Obiefuna transforms from a boy with shaky confidence, to a man. While the country he’s in goes from shaming to murdering the LGBT community. Giving readers insight on coming of age as a queer person when your liberty and life are at stake. Is being true to yourself worth the risk? Loved this book. Via: Amazon

ElDorado: Everything The Nazi’s Hated

Hitler was a white supremacist who believed in Aryan rule, valuing blue eyes, white skin and blonde hair. He wasn’t just antisemitic, but anti-trans and homophobic. He also loathed Gypsy’s, the disabled and mentally handicapped. ElDorado: Everything The Nazi’s Hated, is a Netflix documentary exploring how he led the largest persecution of the LGBTQ+ community. Including his right hand man Ernst Röhm, a homosexual misogynist brazen enough to frequent ElDorado, a Berlin nightclub for gay, lesbian, and transgendered people. I don’t want to ruin anything, because the story is fascinating. A must see documentary liming the overlooked and erased stories of the LGBTQ+ individuals during the Third Reich in Germany.
Yes Jewish people were his number one target by leaps and bounds, but Hitler was a hateful inbred, no one to be admired. For Kanye West to genuinely believe he would befriend him is laughable. You’re black, the opposite of his Aryan ideal. Not only that, but you think too highly of yourself for a n*gg* in his racist eyes. You’d be the first and favorite example of putting someone in their place. The quickness in which he would strip you of everything, everything you have with glee. Completely apathetic about your diatribes against Jewish people, because you, a black person, believed yourself important. In Hitler’s world you wouldn’t exist. That’s why you’re such a fucking joke, believing these people wouldn’t kill you if given the chance. History proves that’s the motive, how many times have they stripped us of black wealth? Kanye who doesn’t read wouldn’t know, he’s ignorant, doesn’t value education. An education our ancestors fought and died for us to have, to free us in foreign land. And yet, you run that mouth, spewing nonsense and delusions.
Side note: somebody go check if John Galliano is okay, he thought Hitler was down with him.

Never stop learning. Know what the fuck you’re talking about before bumping your gums. Being a critical thinker means seeing things from different viewpoints, walking in someone else’s shoes, researching, thinking things through with a fine tooth comb, asking questions (who, what, when, where, why, name the source, what is their objective etc…). Knowledge is power, be humble to accept you don’t know everything, you can always learn. I devour documentaries and books, I care about the multitude of stories that shape humanity. Only then can one see the world as it truly is and change it for the better. That being said have you watched? How deep do you dig before formulating an opinion? Via: Netflix
