Recently I’ve come across a slew of misguided conspiracies regarding Jean Michel Basquiat. Specifically the purchasing of his art by satanic elites. First off he’s one of the most renown artists of all time, any sane collector would salivate to get their hands on his oeuvre. Same as his contemporaries Andy Warhol & Keith Haring. Demonizing him, belittling his technique, typically comes from talentless white people, who have no art education. Literally no business commenting on a profession they don’t apprehend. Not one of them able to replicate what he’s done. If they could it wouldn’t be nearly as eloquent, takes talent sweetie. Basquiat is a member of the 27 Club for a reason, he wasn’t down with the depraved shit (read Revelation 8: The 27 Club).

Only the good die young, because Mick Jagger kills them for refusing to yield to his devilry. Controlling powerful people is what sustains him. She remains the style compliment I hold most dear, a huge statement as Anna Wintour herself approved of me (read The Elusive Anna Wintour). I never thought I’d be one degree of separation from Basquiat through multiple people, let alone meet either of the aforementioned women, but here I am living my wildest dreams. All because I did it my way, taking the road less travelled, guided by faith. Just like Jean-Michel. Something as simple as working in different restaurants, over job security keeping me at Blue Smoke for literal years changed everything. Remembering when Anna Wintour knew the difference between stars and spectacles. What an iconic photo of a golden period in art.
